Proud breeders/owners of dogs with the following titles & accomplishments
Currently..... Canami Shelties is made up of Amanda Inzinna and her niece Erin Davis. Together they share the kennel name, dogs, and the work of handling, grooming, and training the dogs. A few of the dogs are owned individually by Amanda or Erin but many are co-owned by both. More importantly though they share knowledge learned along the way and the much needed support which keeps them striving to meet goals and set new ones. The dogs are shown in conformation and performance events and some also work as therapy dogs. Amanda and Erin feel that continual education and involvement in the dog community are very important. Amanda is a member of CNYSSC, DOTCORNY, and NCKC. She currently works with her local 4-H dog program in which her son Stuart is involved. Erin is a member of CNYSSC, and NCKC. Erin and Amanda attend as many dog club meetings, seminars, and shows as they can throughout the year. Amanda (with her husband Sam and son Stuart) and Erin (husband Travis) live in northern NY in a little town called Alexandria Bay in the 1000 Islands Region . The Australian Shepherds at Canami are owned by Travis & Erin Davis. A little bit of
history...... Erin's mom Debbie became active in the North Country Kennel Club and purchased her first show dog, a Great Dane named Igor Beavor von den Ledges, in 1972. Igor had pts but never finished due to his early passing. Deborah became more involved with horses at that time and didn't show dogs after that but her younger sister Amanda was hooked. Amanda then acquired her first sheltie as a teenager. This little blue sheltie named Bonnicay's Silver Starlight AM/CAN CD was the true beginning of Canami. Mandy showed her in juniors and obedience and tried her hand at the breed ring as well. She trained and handled "Missy" to her AM/CAN CD herself as a teenager. Mandy was hooked on the sheltie breed from this time on and began her journey into the world of shelties while finishing school, attending college, and starting a family. At the beginning Mandy showed mainly in Canada as her home was on Wellesley Island and she lived closer to most of the shows there. This is how she decided on her kennel name "Canami". She choose the name by combining CAN (Canada) and AMI (French word meaning friend). Erin came into shelties after Mandy had successfully bred several generations of shelties who acquired titles in conformation, obedience, and herding. Erin had been showing horses since she was 8 years old and just happened to attend a fun match as a teenager with her Aunt Mandy one summer. One match was all it took and Erin was hooked on this dog show thing too! While still in high school she acquired her first sheltie Canami's Black Viper AM/CAN CD CGC from her aunt Mandy. Mandy.....
